Red Faction: Armageddon - Out Now!
It's been a long time coming, but it's finally June 7th, launch day for Red Faction: Armageddon in North America! This is an exciting day for everyone at Volition and THQ, as we launch the next title in the Red Faction series, continuing to show the world what the Geo-Mod real-time destruction engine can do.

Ok, so when did Red Faction delve into the horror department to make a game? Let's recap the RF series of games:
Red Faction - Standard Scifi FPS, space suits and guns
Red Faction 2 - Special Ops FPS
Red Faction: Guerilla - Insurgency, Guerilla Warfare FPS
Red Faction Battlegrounds - Vehicle based mayhem/ TPS / Driving game
Red Faction: Armageddon - Horror/Action FPS
Where is Volition and THQ going with this series? Each game is beyond completely different from the previous. Although, must say they are all good games. Especially loved RF:G. I love the idea behind 'hit and run' tactics, especially because you could go in undetected, set charges, run, and push a button to watch it all go to pieces. Charging in head first was not an option. They kept a similar feel with the Plague, but the plague remind me more of the Flood in halo with how they attack. Send in the little guys to waste your time, then have the gunners hop around and hurt you, finishing you with heavier gunners and a hulking beast that pummels you to death.
All around, RFA is a great game. Multiplayer is fine. If you want 'competative' because you want a reason to complain, buy RFG and there you go.

Its a simple equation. It may not be Guerrila's competative multiplayer, but it is made by Volition who understand and love multiplayer enough that the thought of them doing something half-arsed or that isn't fun is ludicrous. It may not be competative, but get real, its still a lot more fun than other dubious half-arse jobs we get dumped with.
don't listen to these babys this game rocks i love it everything in this game is awesome yes no free roam but who cares about that you can still travel around each mission so i say this game is a total succes
Seeing as nobody is actually commenting on the game itself I WILL!!! My friends and I loved the multiplayer on Guerrilla and yes we too were dissappointed about no competitive multiplayer. But let me tell you that Infestation is great! Three of us played through all of Black Market and we tried out a bunch of other levels as well. This gets VERY intense! Its crazy how much is going on all at once. Objects being destroyed explosions and creatures jumping all around climbing ceilings etc. It all runs incredibly smooth. NO Lag at all! I have been a huge fan of the series since the beginning and so far I have to say Armageddon brings the game to a whole new level. Before everybody keeps complaining just shut up and give Infestation a try! I applaud Volition for taking a chance and doing something different. Great job guys!
If you read the forums actively and gaming news and reviews. You would have known there is online co-op survival and no multiplayer. Besides with more powerful weapons like singularity cannons and plasma beams. Multiplayer would be quite onesided now wouldn't it?

Come on Red Faction, NO Competitive Multiplayer, thats horrible, its the MAIN reason I brought red faction guerrilla and Loved it because of that, and because of this new game NOT having the Competitive Multiplayer action, am NOT going to be buying this game, nor any of my freinds, so you just Lost at least 4 sales because of this and Im sure many more because of this action you guys have done. You totally ruined the game by doing this. I never usally post on sites like this or anything, but was really looking forward to buying this game UNTILL I found this out that there will be no competitive multiplayer, which caused me to really have to voice my opinion. Serouisly what where you guys thinking, that was your MAIN SELLING POINT for the last game. Needless to say Im VERY Disappointed and hope you guys do something to fix this quick cause you probably just LOST a lot of BUYERS because of this, I know I am certainly NOT going to be buying the game.
I agree...gamecrazy was awsome..and didnt rip you off as bad as gamestop..i got the pro membership too..and theres a 50% bonus for trading in...you know how much i got for crysis 2 will all those deals? 20$..a 60 dolla game..a week later is 20$!!! bullshit..because of this i dont have RFA ...yet
What is the purpose of having a midnight release of any game, if Game Stop and other Video Game stores close at 9 and 10pm? Even the 24 hour Walmart doesn't have "Red Faction: Armageddon" ready for purchase. Game Crazy was the best Video Game Store, ever! Too bad they closed a year ago.
