Hello all,
Since there's a lot of unknowns floating around RF:G currently, I've created this F.A.Q. to answer the most common questions. I've probably missed a few, so feel free to ask others below. This is not a full on Q&A thread though, this is only meant for answers to questions that come up the most.
Red Faction: Guerrilla = RF:G
Q1: What systems will RF:G be released on?
A1: XBox 360, PlayStation 3, PC.
Q2: When is the release date for RF:G?
A2: RF:G will be released on June 2nd, 2009.
Q3: Does RF:G have Split-Screen or Co-Op?
A3: RF:G does not have Split-Screen play or Co-Op, but there is a couch-based multiplayer option called Wrecking Crew. You can find information on this mode in the "Multiplayer" section of RedFaction.com and WorthPlaying.com has written up a great preview of Wrecking Crew HERE.
Q4: Does RF:G have online multiplayer?
A4: Yes! There will be multiple modes to play in, which includes a standard deathmatch mode called Anarchy / Team Anarchy, Damage Control, and a few others which will be detailed in the near future.
Q5: What's the deal with these things called backpacks I keep hearing about?
A5: Backpacks were first showcased during our MP Beta a few months ago on XBox Live. You can find some information on them HERE and HERE. We also have a few new backpacks which have not been revealed yet.
Q6: Hey, I saw the movie Total Recall. Can I customize my character to look like Douglas Quiad?
A6: During the single player campaign, you will play as Alec Mason. You will not be able to customize his appearance. No details have been released yet on if there will be customization for multiplayer.
Q7: Wait, how are they on Mars without helmets and breathing the air?
A7: In the future, Mars has been terraformed. You can read a quick overview of terraforming Mars HERE.
Q8: The original Red Faction and Red Faction 2 were both First Person Shooters. Why is RF:G Third Person? Can I change my view to first person?
A8: RF:G has moved into Third Person for a variety of reasons, but it really revolves around the destruction system. Through many usability tests, we discovered that while in first person view, many users would kill themselves inadvertently because they could not see the buildings collapsing around them. Also, this pulled back view allows us to show off more of our ground breaking destruction system to the player. There will not be an option to switch into first person.
Q9: In the original Red Faction, I could destroy the terrain. Is that possible in RF:G?
A9: In RF:G, you will be able to destroy any object on the terrain (buildings, vehicles, etc.), but the terrain itself cannot be destroyed.
Q10: What weapons will be available for use in RF:G?
A10: Check out our Weapon of the Week feature to find out.
Q11: Can I use that big gigantic yellow machine thingy with the claws?
A11: That is called a "Walker" and it will be usable by the player within RF:G. It is guaranteed to make everyone want to walk through a building.
Q12: Will the Walker and/or vehicles be available for use in Multiplayer?
A12: Vehicles will not be available for use in Multiplayer.
Q13: What are the PC Specifications for RF:G?
A13: Please see the official PC Thread: http://community.redfaction.com/forums/topic/2772
Q14: Will there be a level editor / mod tools with the game?
A14: Please see the official PC Thread: http://community.redfaction.com/forums/topic/2772
Q15: Will there be LAN play? Bots?
A15: Please see this thread.
Q16: Is there anyway that I can play the MP Beta? Is there going to be another MP Beta test?
A16: All of our MP Beta testing has been completed. There will not be another MP Beta.
Q17: Will there be a demo for RF:G before the game is released in June?
A17: There is a single player demo set to begin on April 3rd. The demo will also be available to the public on XBL/PSN starting on April 23rd. A Multiplayer Demo is now available on XBL as well.
Q18: Will players on 360 and PC be able to play together due to RF:G using GFWL?
A18: Unfortunately, no.
I'll add more to this if any other frequently asked questions pop up. Again, this is not a full on Q&A thread, just a place for general knowledge.

Q16 & Q17 have been added.
Nice, now I just need to know if there is a demo coming out.
Q16 says there will not be another MP beta, would there be a SP beta? :D

Has there been any new news released about being able to play the game with a friend together in a two-player way? Because I remember them saying that you would be able to play with a friend on the same couch while playing the game. And I was just wondering if there was anything new said about that. I know there is no co-op in the story mode. But like in the old Red Faction's you could play with a friend with splitscreen in multi-player with the bots. Which I know they said that there are no bot's in this new Red Faction.
I thought the first and second Red Faction's were awesome and I still play them today. And now that I'm playing the new Red Faction I'm liking the series even more, and waiting for Red Faction Armageddon to come out.
The point of a beta is to test connections and lag and all that kind of stuff, which is not necessary for Single Player. ;)

Please, oh please, add map editor for the 360 version! That would be soo cool! It would make it truly a sandbox game.

But yeah, your other points are valid
PSN ID: Seventy_X_Seven, Red Faction: Guerrilla day one owner, long time fan of Red Faction since PS2. Platinum in RFG.
Red Faction: Armageddon, Volition loves to mess with people who can't spell. As if Guerrilla didn't cause enough spelling errors already
I just want to say that that's the worst spot EVER to put a keyboard. I like the placement of the 360 one though, alot of my friends have them. They're pretty cool.
