Ya, i'd totally buy the shit out of a new red faction with completely remade graphics and maybe better looking destruction effects, but seeing as how RF1 was linear, being able to just blast your way out of the building and walk across the un-terraformed mars wouldnt work. But ya, they could totally remake RF1 and RF2 and sell it on a single blu-ray disk.

Hmm... it probably wouldn't be quite the same. Underground buildings probably wouldn't be effected by the stress system in the same way, and Geo-Mod 2.0 ignores the ground so you'd be left a bit hard done in some cases, but if they could do things like make pillars of earth fall over like the last support on a top-heavy building it would be cool. Although thinking more about it, putting the new engine, even with mods to effect the ground, would drastically change the gameplay - think about what would happen if you could bring down the Merc's base on the Ultor guards and Mercs, or puncture a hole in the space station :P Nah, on second thoughts, a HD retouch of the visuals would be the most you can do without ruining it. Would be great to play it on PS3 tho :P or even make a condensed version of RF:G for the PS2 with reduced visuals and a simplified version of the destruction system (Geo-Mod 1.9 or something)! That would serve me well when I move out next year and can only take the PS2 with me...
red faction is a classic i wouldn't want to buy it re-made with geo-mod 2.0 because it just wouldn't be the same.
They could digitally remaster it! Replace all weapons with walkies talkies!

RF1 is not old enough to need a redo. The textures are fine, models are a bit low poly but not ugly. Geomod was never a big gameplay mechanic in RF1 I thought, past the initial "wow this is cool".
geo-mod 1 is destroy walls bridges etc
geo-mod 2 is for buildings
there aren't alot of building you could destroy or else the game would be boring or it would looks bad made
no.

Better Red Than Dead
RF1 with GeoMod 2.0 would be terrible.
I'd love an RF1 "HD-Remix", it'd be awesome... but it'd need a redone version of the GeoMod engine and not the stress system that is GeoMod 2.0.

Lol South Park :P
All hail the sledgehammer.
I'd drop $100 on an RF HD-Remix. No joke.
That is unless they totally screwed the entire thing up.
frag4^nick
I'd drop $100 without question on an RF(1) HD-Remix, as long as it's done right.
