Granted I don't mean totally remade, more ported really. It would be nice to have the entire Martian Trilogy, so to speak, on a single console. RF1, Guerrilla, and Armageddon.
Lol, I love the way everyone thinks RF2 isn't canon now ;P Well it's theoretically possible, but it would be made a damn sight easier if Red Faction was remade in Geomod 2.0, so that all three games work on the same engine. It's the same reason that the Orange Box could have 5 games on it, because they all used Source. However, in order to remake RF1 in 2.0, it would need to be completely redesigned - replace terrain destruction with building destruction, make rocks like buildings in certain places, remodel Parker in greater detail, redesign a lot of the tighter spaces to accomodate a third-person camera... I'm not saying it's not possible or that it wouldn't be fun, just that it might be more effort than Volition are able or willing to put out. However I do think a Red Faction Redux would be an awesome avenue to explore, and maybe possible for users if Volition make the Geomod 2.0 engine more mod-friendly with RFA.
There are no plans at this time to bring RF1 or RF2 to a new console. Luckily, you can pick up either of them for extremely cheap online, probably cheaper than they would be if they were ported over as well.
Singular, are RF1 and RF2 supported by backwards compatibility on PS3 and RF2 on 360?
The only one that I know works on 360 is RF2, since I own RF2 and have played it on my 360 in the past. All the others I'm unsure of, but I can ask around and find out, or borrow our library copies and try them out tonight.
You can play RF1 and 2 on the PS3 IF you have the right model of PS3. Some models support backwards compatibility, others don't. Unfortunately most don't. I still think a redesign of RF1 in Geomod 2.0 would be an interesting experiment at the very least :P

You seem to be forgetting that all the games in the series are available on a single platform: PC.
Also, RF1 and RF2 should be supported on PS3 shouldn't they? And RF2 on 360?

I guess I might get it for PC, though I did run across my old PS2 copy. Is the Steam version optimized for Windows Vista?
Edit: Ah, never mind, running the old '01 demo under Windows 2000 compatibility cleared things up.
The EDF, bridging Earth, and Mars.
If you download Pure Faction, RF1 will run fine on Vista.

Thanks for that, but the Steam version runs great with out it so far.
