Red Faction: Armageddon | Decrease View Distance?

Decrease View Distance?

Well I am a complete noob to RedFaction and my computer definitely isn't up to snuff to play this thing EVEN on lowest graphics. I can tell its maily the view distance that is creating enormous lag for my computer. Is there some way I can DECREASE the view distance so that the game runs smoother?

Are there any other tips for how I can boost performance?

(I have no idea how to mod this game either)

to be honest im not sure though what we have been modding if there was a way to change the draw distance. also if it was changed im not sure what repercussions it would have on game workings/process.
